FAQ
WyMod Snap-C:
Q: Why does my Snap-C charge but does not connect to my computer?
A: All WyMod Adapters go through extensive QC before shipment, so it is unlikely that the Snap-C is DOA. First check your USB-C cable. Inspect for kinks, loose wires and possible debris that is not allowing a stable connection. Secondly, check that your USB-C cable supports data transfer as some cables are power only and meant to charge basic devices that do not need data communication. The easiest way to check if your cable supports data transfer is by plugging in your phone or another trusted device. When in doubt, WyMod Labs sells trusted and known fully functional USB-C to USB-A cables that do support data transfer.
Q: Why doesn’t my Snap-C charge my 6-7th Gen Classic or 3rd Gen Nano?
A: The Snap-C does charge these iPods, however they are extremely picky as to what you plug into them. They don’t like newer power supplies as there needs to be a specific resistor combo in the power brick that lets it charge successfully, otherwise the iPod’s charging IC just trickle charges. Since these resistor combos would interfere with the data transfer lines in the Snap-C, we did not add these resistors. Most computers, cars, phones and Apple 5W charging bricks however have the necessary hardware to charge those picky iPods, so those would be the devices we’d best recommend over using power bank.
WyMod Supercharger:
Q: Is it normal for my FireWire Indicate LED to turn off when I disconnect my device?
A: Yes, there are different revisions of the Supercharger, some the FireWire LED stay on no matter what, while others turn off the LED when the iPod is unplugged.
Q: What devices support FireWire?
A: The WyMod Supercharger only supports FireWire charging on the following tested devices:
iPod: 3rd-7th Gen
iPod Nano: 1st-3rd Gen
iPod Mini: 1st-2nd Gen
WyMod AeroStream:
Q: Does it support AirPods, AirPods Pro and AirPods Max?
A: Yes! The WyMod AeroStream supports all these devices flawlessly with every feature.
Q: Does it connect to cars?
A: Depending on your car’s head unit. Search your manual to see if the head unit supports “Secure Simple Pairing” (SSP). If it does, then the AeroStream will connect. Some newer cars such as the 2022 Toyota Corolla support this feature, however, you may lose out on features like Bluetooth Audio Control Commands.
